Company History
Hello, my name is Salim Zerhouni. I am the owner and founder of A1 Translating and Interpreting Services.  I am a U.S Citizen born in Algiers, Algeria, which is in Northern Africa. I am fluent in four languages - French, Spanish, Arabic and English.  I have traveled extensively and I am at ease in many cultures.

In 1990, I graduated from the Institute of Mostaganem. Algeria. Professionally, I have worked for both domestic American and Global logistics companies in a variety of roles.  I started A1 TRANSLATIONS & INTERPRETING SERVICES.LLC after realizing there was a need for such a service in my area.  Via the web, the company is planning to expand beyond the Midwest providing fast, friendly, and accurate translation services.

We are a consulting firm specializing in translation and interpretation of all types of documents.  We serve clients in the public, academic, and private sectors. We look forward to doing business with you.

I would like to compliment the services provided by Salim Zerhouni while I was hosting the Iraqi child and Grandmother in my home for three and one half months. Salim was always available when needed and I must say there were some rather odd times of calling him. I was so glad to be able to reach him via phone to resolve situations that occurred because of cultural differences. He was quick and precise with his translation of what or what wasn’t need. There were several times when his services were needed for other than the child, i.e., Grandma needing medical or dental services while here. He was always there for me.

His professionalism in helping at the hospital and eye clinic was excellent. He was quick to response to questions or answers by the medical personal as to concerns that either Zahraa or Bushra had. I am sure Dr. Kevin Flaherty was pleased with his services via the confidences shown when Salim was present.

Salim was an asset in helping the Public Relations and media when interviews were needed by the reporters, and there were many. He was always there! The reunion of the child and soldier in Crandon, found Salim being “drag” from one point to another and yet, he was always willing to assist and translate for all the Lions at the celebration.

The other thing that impressed me about Salim was his professional appearance for each function. He could have dressed in blue jeans, yet he was in either a suit or nice dress pants and shirt.

After working with Salim for this long of a period, I have to say, he has become a personal friend. It has been an honor to have met Salim. He helped my husband and me, with insight to some of the problems that Iraqis have, along with acquainting us to some of their cultural/customs differences. Thanks Salim!

Sincerely,
